About ASA
The Australian Shipowners Association (ASA) represent Australian companies who own or operate international and/or domestic trading ships, cruise ships, domestic towage and salvage tugs, scientific research vessels and offshore oil and gas support vessels. The Association also represents employers of the Australian and international maritime labour.
Our mission is to promote the role of Australian shipping providing sustainable shipping and internationally competitive sea transport services for the benefit of Australia.
Our role:
- We advocate/lobby on behalf of the industry generally and our members in particular
- We are the focal point for information on the sector in Australia
- We are the linkage between the sector and government
- We are the Australian voice in the international shipowning community
- We provide innovative solutions to secure the maritime skills base and protect the environment
- We are the forefront of establishing training initiatives for seagoing occupations
ASA is a member of the International Chamber of Shipping, the International Shipping Federation and the Asian Shipowners Forum.
