Member Services
The sea transport industry can be very complex sector to operate within. Regulation and policy often create many challenges which require ready access to specialist maritime knowledge to complement the capabilities of many businesses.
ASA is often referred to as the think tank of the Australian shipping industry. This is a reflection of the efforts made by AMSA members to plan for the future and the work of the secretariat to influence policy settings.
The ASA secretariat provides knowledge and information on specialist maritime issues. Offering a cost effective way to meet the challenges organisations in the shipping industry will face on a day-to-day basis, ASA membership provides access to information and resources that supplement and extend in-house resources of ASA members. ASA provides an attractive alternative to hiring maritime contractors and other specialists on an ad hoc basis, with annual ASA membership providing access to an entire staff of specialists in their respective field of the maritime industry.
The ASA secretariat work closely with ASA members to provide solutions to the challenges facing their everyday operations and look for opportunities to enhance their business environment in the future.
The ASA secretariat generally works on issues where there is a whole of industry impact or benefit. However one-on-one interaction with ASA members is not unusual as issues affecting one member are likely to affect others.
We offer a wide range of services to our members including:
