Environment Panel
The ASA Environment Panel was established with the vision that this group would operate slightly differently than the other ASA committees. In particular, the ASA Environment Panel would be focused on the longer term and be highly strategic.
The ASA Environment Panel was formed to develop and promote environmental initiatives within the industry, to keep ASA members ahead of emerging environmental issues, to create an open dialogue with environmental non-government organisations and to provide guidance to the secretariat on the strategic direction of the Association on environmental public relations issues.
The ASA Environment Panel is directed by the following mission statement:
To promote shipping industry environmental awareness and responsibility.
Through the Panel, ASA members aim to address existing environmental impacts of the shipping industry, continually improve environmental performance and work towards the ultimate goal of the elimination of ship sourced emissions in the future.
